10 <p>The latest release is <b>3.14</b>. This is an incremental
11 upgrade with a number of new features, however old 3.0x configuration
12 files should be fully compatible. New features are documented in
13 the CHANGES and NewStuff files</p>
15 <p>The previous release is <b>3.13</b>. This is an incremental
16 upgrade with some new features, however old 3.0x configuration
17 files should be fully compatible. Upgrading from previous
18 releases is worth doing, particularly since a denial-of-service
19 hole has been fixed over 3.0x and lower versions. This is a well
20 trusted version in wide use in production environments.</p>
22 <p>The previous release is <b>3.03</b>. This was a major upgrade
23 over the 2.1x series, and some features of the configuration file
24 are not backward compatible - although there is a conversion
25 utility. Earlier version <b>3.0x</b> users should upgrade,
26 although the bug fixes are relatively minor.</p>
28 <p>The last 2.x release version was <b>2.12</b>. This is a bugfix
29 release over earlier 2.1x releases. Upgrade from 2.0x releases is
32 <p>There were a number of early beta versions of exim with version
33 numbers less than <b>1.0</b>. These should now be avoided.
34 Versions earlier than <b>2.0x</b> should also be upgraded.</p>
36 <p>There may be beta versions with available from the ftp sites in
37 the Testing directory. Many people are using these without
38 problems, but they are not recommended unless you are willing to
39 work with beta software.</p>
