  10     <p>The latest release is <b>3.14</b>.  This is an incremental
  11     upgrade with some new features, however old 3.0x configuration
  12     files should be fully compatible.  At present it appears there may
  13     be some problems with this release so production environments
  14     might be best left on <b>3.13</b></p>

  16     <p>The previous release is <b>3.14</b>.  This is an incremental
  17     upgrade with some new features, however old 3.0x configuration
  18     files should be fully compatible.  Upgrading from previous
  19     releases is worth doing, particularly since a denial-of-service
  20     hole has been fixed over 3.0x and lower versions.  This is a well
  21     trusted version in wide use in production environments.</p>

  23     <p>The previous release is <b>3.03</b>.  This was a major upgrade
  24     over the 2.1x series, and some features of the configuration file
  25     are not backward compatible - although there is a conversion
  26     utility.  Earlier version <b>3.0x</b> users should upgrade,
  27     although the bug fixes are relatively minor.</p>

  29     <p>The last 2.x release version was <b>2.12</b>.  This is a bugfix
  30     release over earlier 2.1x releases.  Upgrade from 2.0x releases is
  31     not imperative.</p>

  33     <p>There were a number of early beta versions of exim with version
  34     numbers less than <b>1.0</b>.  These should now be avoided.
  35     Versions earlier than <b>2.0x</b> should also be upgraded.</p>

  37     <p>There may be beta versions with available from the ftp sites in
  38     the Testing directory.  Many people are using these without
  39     problems, but they are not recommended unless you are willing to
  40     work with beta software.</p>
