  10     <p>The latest release is <b>4.44</b>.  This is a pure bug fix
  11     release in the <b>4.xx</b> series of releases - see the <a
  12     href="mirrors.html">download</a> pages.  Documentation has been
  13     updated for 4.40.  Versions 4.43 and prior had some security
  14     related bugs and should either be <a href="http://www.exim.org/mail-archives/exim-announce/2005/msg00000.html">patched</a> or updated to 4.44</p>

  16     <p>New features are documented in the <a
  17     href="ftp/ChangeLogs/ChangeLog-4.40">doc/ChangeLog</a> and <a
  18     href="ftp/ChangeLogs/NewStuff-4.40">doc/NewStuff</a> files within
  19     the distribution.  These files are also available separately from
  20     the main package files on the main ftp site and its mirrors in the
  21     <a href="ftp/ChangeLogs/"><tt>ChangeLogs</tt></a> directory - see
  22     the <a href="mirrors.html">download</a> pages.</p>

  24     <p> All versions of exim
  25     previous to version <b>4.x</b> are now considered obsolete and
  26     everyone is  <b>strongly</b> recommended to upgrade to a current
  27     release.</p>

  29     <p>The last 3.x release was <b>3.36</b>.</p>

  31     <p>There may be beta versions with available from the ftp sites in
  32     the Testing directory.  Many people are using these without
  33     problems, but they are not recommended unless you are willing to
  34     work with beta software.</p>
